Bahamut Hides the World
Bahamut Hides the World
(A Magicalena Poem)
Bahamut saw the end of all thing
Within the elder dramaric tree rings
His great, winter voice went forth
Flower’d from moundin hearth
A control of the word gift semandin
Made command to the gather’d Middlings
To stay and to obey his royal plea
From top of peak to Tiamut’s sea
For their hopes were but wilturn draps
Written and bidden in the blood of maps
Boundless by endlessness
As his words bedrapen a waverly wall
An Middlings fell on the heavenly fall
He spread his wings into preaided night
And cut all the nevering light
Plumes of the deep sloaped inland
The peddy gathring, warring band
And sooty truth that burns even death
Spelled forth from his brimy breath
A pallor for color so shielded from darkness
O the Middlings had lavered the words
Threw stones andover the singing birds
They loped the lursted, living death
Rapacious hunger and violent harvest
The children of clay spread the fear
And warbled forward with bow and spear
Claiming the winnowing brightness
That became shadows betwixt their eyes
With a greed that is gruubelly boundless
Bahamut called forth the elder ones
The memories long reddered with slow names
The first taught, long legged wizards
That crawled forth with the wilderness lizards
Ancient people outside the time tension
Who shared the future and held the vision
Bestowed with words of power
That wrote the first histories within their tower
Without a feathered bloom of flumness
The rex released the willow night
From the scales of his winged might
The stars freed to steal the eyes
Melting the doubt of faithful lies
And the cold light of his talons
Blew and billoxed the bayard phalanx
And with the ancient order of soothsayers
Mixed the miraculous wordling wonders
Bound the Middlings to darkness
Bahamut burrowed into the black court
Where the sickness hid its heart
And infected the elder roots with plague
From there it projected its mirror image
A construction of bilious lies
With a solid foundation of imagent ties
Sully soiled and oiled the truth
Harried and buried the sacred proof
Cutting and sporing the preturn oneness
Thus tangled in its heathen limbs
The dragon rex, he breathed it in
The filth scathered by the forge of his breath
And the worlds shook open the mother’s mouth
Expressing clouds that poured vaporly syruptions
These slivers of the great corruption
Fell like caterwauling needles of rain
A single thread in every poruptious brain
Into every living thing of animus
The gateway toppled down
A road to the forgotten known
Separating the power into broken stones
A skeleton of moddled, fraggered bones
And Bahamut too, broke from within
His goodly power and stature shrinking
And repainting his kingly features
To hide in plain sight among wicked creatures
As broken hearts healed through ages
Protecting the secret from reforged passage
The totality of our sumness
In moonless, esgrove night
Dimmed in the mist of hinder sight
Hid the chimera Middlings
Into the moors and bogs and siltings
Shying from children of clay
And casting shadows into every day
While man moved out in darker light
Lit by the reflection of hubric sight
And rejected by suppressant guilt
Buried in the lifeless dirt
To do what wilt in wilting sameness
A legion of lies and maritold myth
Passed down as ripe and rightful truth
Has kept our eyes in shadow and time
Tuned like a harp to the thread in our mind
To the fear of the ramen others
This world of magic made into monsters
By a grand and selfish imagination
An ergot planted, com progenation
Such is our collective blindness
