“Why do you wear those?” she asks me. “They hardly do anything. You see good enough without them.”
“Yeah, but you see me better with them on.”
She looks confused.
“You know,” I say. “First time I met you, you were in a Princess Leia costume.”
“Oh yeah, that’s right.”
“It fit you perfectly. I still think of you that way.”
“What way? Like Princess Leia?”
“Absolutely.”
“So then you’re what? Like Han Solo or something?” she smiles wryly at me.
“I can’t help it. I see what I want to see and present what I hope to represent. And to me, you’re my Princess Leia.”
“You just don’t know me well enough.”
“That’s true. That’s the fun of it. How do you see me?”
