Quit Smoking
A friend was here this last weekend and then I quit smoking, but I gotta do a thing, so I saved one last cigarette in case I died while accomplishing it.
I've been putting something off since New Year's cuz it scares me. It's been on my list of things to do since the first week in January. In order to turn off the Xmas lights, I hafta climb out on the roof and unplug the extension cord from the lights, right on the edge of the fall. It's a tall house, and I don't plan to see whether I could survive the drop or not. So, every night the lights go on in their jubilant festivity, and I look at them and think about the electrical bill and how I should really go out there and unplug them, but it's about a three story drop and the roof is covered in snow. It's not exactly that I'm afraid, though I probably should be, and maybe also I am. It's just that there's people that count on me. So here I go. Up on the roof to unplug the festivities with a lit cigarette.
